Established in 1854 by J. West Martin, a Regent of the University of California, Reinstein Ranch is one of the oldest continuously operating ranches in Northern California. On 80 acres in the Historic Livermore Valley, 45 minutes from San Francisco, this is a property that took 170 years to become what it is today. The 1860 draft horse barn still stands on its original footprint. The wheat grown on this soil won a gold medal at the Paris World's Fair in 1900. The Reinstein family arrived in 1884 and carried the land for five generations, building an equestrian operation, a Prohibition-era distillery heritage, and an event venue within walls that have held gatherings since Abraham Lincoln was president. The land sweeps through the valley floor to the surrounding hills. The oak-studded terrain moves through open pasture, hillside, and canyon and boasts a natural spring that has never gone dry, providing abundant water for the ranch for 170 years. The Ranch House, approximately 120 years old, carries a wraparound porch, 12-foot ceilings, and the proportions of a home built by people who intended to be somewhere permanently. What the ranch carries today: 30 boarding horses across four barns, with infrastructure supporting up to 90. One of the oldest operating equestrian properties in the Livermore Valley — in continuous use since the 1850s. Multiple tenanted residential structures producing income from the first day of ownership. All structures are currently tenanted. The Ranch House is the principal residence and is not tenanted. Eight barrels of estate-grown wheat whiskey, aged seven years, a federally licensed distillery building with all distillery equipment. The production is currently dormant. However, the TTB distillery license is active and a transfer can be applied for. A 165-year-old event barn with an active history of private events, weddings, and film and music video production rentals.
